Broadcaster Sayuri has revealed her son's language education method, sparking a heated discussion.

Recently, various online platforms have posted a video summarizing Sayuri's child-rearing approach from her appearance on the channel ‘A-Class Jang Young-ran’ in March, drawing renewed attention.

In the video, Sayuri mentioned Korea's strong academic enthusiasm, stating, “It seems that Korea particularly focuses on language education.”

She continued, saying that although she could have sent her son to an English kindergarten sooner, she chose not to, believing “it is more important for our child to properly learn Korean.”

In particular, she expressed concern that “if we use Japanese at home and only speak English at kindergarten, there is a risk that his Korean could weaken.”

Additionally, she mentioned that to keep her child interested in language, she wrote a letter to the kindergarten teacher, stating, “I am proud that my son does not do homework. So please do not assign homework to my child.”

She added, “Homework can diminish a child's curiosity and make them lose interest.”

After the video was released, some reacted positively to Sayuri's educational philosophy of not letting her son lose interest, while others pointed out that it does not align with the operational methods of English kindergartens.

Some netizens commented, “It seems that homeschooling or a kindergarten without homework would be more suitable for Sayuri,” emphasizing the need to respect the educational policies of the kindergarten and the teachers.

Meanwhile, Sayuri gave birth to her son through sperm donation in 2020. She has shared her parenting life on KBS2’s ‘The Return of Superman’ and has recently been communicating with fans through her personal YouTube channel.
