The large-scale global project 'Boys II Planet' aimed at debuting a K-POP boy group will begin its first broadcast today (17th).
CJ ENM's music channel Mnet will air the first episode of 'Boys II Planet K' at 9:20 PM on the 17th. This season is a survival program where participants from various backgrounds, including ordinary people, trainees, and experienced individuals, compete with the goal of debuting in K-POP.
The first broadcast will depict the process of participants being evaluated through a ranking test. The production team stated, "Impressive performances are expected from the very first episode," adding, "The individuality of each participant, as well as unexpected talents, will catch viewers' attention."
The evaluations will be conducted by a master panel consisting of experts in various fields, including vocalist Lee Seok-hoon, Lim Han-byul, singer Hyorin, dancers Baek Gu-young, Kinky, and Kani, and rapper Justhis. The production team added, "We plan to guide the participants with a cool yet warm perspective."
The opening video released before the broadcast hints at a narrative of competition, friendship, and hope towards debuting, based on the worldview of 'two planets.' Reactions on online communities and social media include comments like "I'm looking forward to it" and "It's even better that it's broadcast two days in a row."
Mnet stated, "'Boys II Planet' has a structure where global fans directly select the debut members, making it exciting to watch the growth and selection process of the participants," adding, "The process of viewers finding their own 'one pick' will also be a key point of the program."
'Boys II Planet' will air every Thursday and Friday at 9:20 PM, with today's first episode focusing on K-group participants. The episode centered on C-group participants will be broadcast on the 18th.
