Jangsu County in Jeollabuk-do has stated its position regarding the rumors that Taeyeon from Girls' Generation would appear at a local event.
On the 15th, Jangsu County posted a message on its official SNS titled 'Official Explanation on the Casting of Performers for the Opening Performance of the Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival.'
In the post, Jangsu County stated, "During the casting process for the opening performance of the 19th Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival, the final casting of Taeyeon from Girls' Generation fell through, but the list of performers and the poster draft were leaked externally."
They continued, "We express our regret for inadvertently disappointing the local residents and Taeyeon's fans," adding, "We will take this incident as an opportunity to address the shortcomings in the festival's organization and ensure that such incidents do not happen again by thoroughly checking the performers."
Recently, a poster for the 'Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival' was revealed in online communities, drawing attention as Taeyeon was listed in the lineup for the opening celebration concert on September 19.
However, her agency, SM Entertainment, denied this. On the 14th, SM Entertainment stated, "We have not been approached for this festival. We hope fans are not confused."
This led to speculation that there might have been confusion with another singer named Kim Taeyeon, a trot singer, and Kim Taeyeon's side confirmed, "It is true that we were approached for this festival."
However, Jangsu County reiterated on the 15th that "the final casting of Taeyeon from Girls' Generation fell through," indicating that there seems to have been a communication error between the agency responsible for the casting and Jangsu County.
