'Harry Potter' is wielding a magic wand once again. Fourteen years after the film series concluded in 2011, it returns in the form of a TV series.
Warner Bros. Discovery announced on the 14th (local time) that production of the HBO original 'Harry Potter' series has officially begun at its UK subsidiary studio. The release is set for 2027, and it will be broadcast on the HBO channel and streaming service Max.
In particular, a photo of the new series' lead actor, child actor Dominic McLoughlin, dressed as his character has also been released. The round glasses, the scar on his forehead, curly hair, and Hogwarts uniform caught attention.
Given the strong image of Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry since 2001, the casting has garnered intense interest from the start. Reports suggest that over 30,000 applicants flocked to the open casting that began last fall.
In May, the production team announced that besides McLoughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton has been cast as Hermione and Alastair Stoot as Ron.
