‘Dokdo Guardian’ Professor Seo Kyung-deok will serve as the ambassador for Ulleung-gun.
The appointment ceremony is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of the 27th at the Ulleung-gun Office in Gyeongbuk, with County Mayor Nam Han-gwon, Deputy Mayor Nam Geon, and other officials present.
Professor Seo stated, “Ulleungdo has not only the Dokdo Museum but also various historical sites related to Dokdo, which have not been well-known externally, and I have always felt regret about that.”
He also added, “There are places like the ‘Undersea Cable Landing Point’ on Ulleungdo, which are historical sites from the Japanese invasion that have been left unattended, and I will strengthen promotion so that tourists can easily visit them.”
Professor Seo mentioned, “In the future, I plan to develop various content in consultation with Ulleung-gun,” and said, “I will do my best to make it a world-class tourist island.” He emphasized, “To protect Dokdo well, we must effectively utilize the connectivity with Ulleungdo.”
This second half of the year, Professor Seo will present the TV animation ‘Gangchi Island’ in collaboration with the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation's Content Promotion Agency. There are plans to promote it globally through OTT services.
