Actress Chae Seo-an's photoshoot has been revealed.
Chae Seo-an, who passionately portrayed ‘Madam Haks’ in the Netflix series ‘Poksak Sogassuda’, graced the July issue of ‘Cosmopolitan’.
This photoshoot was inspired by the idea of ‘Madam Haks’, who was not loved by ‘Mr. Haks’ in the drama, returning to her prime time, decorated in a retro mood. Chae Seo-an expressed, “I thought the concept was really fun when I received the brief. I was worried about whether I could pull it off well, though,” she laughed.
When asked how she has been since the drama ended, Chae Seo-an replied, “It feels like the time that had stopped is flowing again. Many people around me have started to recognize me, and seeing my friends who are happier than I am makes me happy too.”
She also reminisced about the moment she was cast in ‘Poksak Sogassuda’.
She said, “The phrase I used the most while acting was ‘not much screen time’. Since I get asked a lot about what projects I’m working on, I always end with, ‘I’m in this and that project, but I don’t have much screen time.’ So, I didn’t have high expectations even after receiving the casting offer. After filming ‘Poksak Sogassuda’, I even thought about pursuing a different path during my break from acting.”
She continued, “During the time without a schedule, I felt like I was falling behind and becoming lazier, so I tried to keep myself moving to pass the time. (Working various part-time jobs) was, of course, also to earn money,” recalling how she bravely went out to work despite the concerns of those around her.
As she prepares for her next project, Chae Seo-an shared what she considers most important when reading a script.
She stated, “I look at it holistically, considering what genre it is, the relationships between the characters, and most importantly, whether it’s interesting. I also try to visualize what it would feel like when it’s made into a video.” She added, “I really enjoy cheerful comedy genres like ‘White Chicks’. Among Korean works, there’s a movie called ‘30 Days’ starring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, which I found really entertaining. I’ve replayed it several times thinking, ‘How would I have acted in that role?’”
When asked what season she resembles now, Chae Seo-an replied, “Spring. It feels like a sprout preparing to grow again after winter has passed. I will spend the remaining season well, and winter will come again, but I can just go through that season when it comes. Right now, I’ve just sprouted, so I’ll take good care of it,” she smiled.
