Actor Um Tae-woong (51) has announced his return to acting after 9 years, and his wife Yoon Hye-jin (45) left a heartfelt message.
On the 22nd, Yoon Hye-jin posted on her SNS, "I cannot choose what happens to me, but I can choose how to respond to it. Choosing one's attitude is the ultimate freedom of a human being."
After announcing Um Tae-woong's return the day before, she drew attention from netizens by sharing a new heartfelt message just a day later.
On the 21st, Yoon Hye-jin revealed that the work "I Kill You," in which Um Tae-woong appeared, was invited to this year's Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, announcing his return.
Yoon Hye-jin wrote, "Watching him quietly gather his thoughts and endure during this time, I wondered if such a day would really come. Over the years of waiting without answers, I hoped, imagined, and also thought that it might never come, and more than ten years passed."
She continued, "I sincerely thank you for allowing me to experience this miraculous moment," and added, "Coincidentally, the GV screening date, July 9, is my mother's birthday this year. It may be a coincidence, but I can't shake the feeling that my mother is watching over us." She also expressed her gratitude, saying, "Everything is thanks to you all," and "Thank you for your silent support all this time."

Yoon Hye-jin has been indirectly showing her unique feelings by sharing updates about Um Tae-woong's new endeavors after he spent time in self-reflection following a personal controversy in 2016.
At the time of the incident, Um Tae-woong was accused of sexual assault by an employee of a massage parlor, but it was revealed that the claims were false, clearing him of the sexual assault charges. However, he was found guilty of prostitution and received a summary prosecution with a fine of 1 million won. He then halted his acting activities and has been in self-reflection for a long time.
In 2020, Yoon Hye-jin stated that it seemed Um Tae-woong had sufficiently reflected, saying, "I would like my husband to act again, but if it doesn't happen, it can't be helped," and added, "As long as his wife has forgiven him, I hope others won't comment on it."
Meanwhile, Um Tae-woong and Yoon Hye-jin got married in 2013 and have a daughter named Ji-on.
