As reaction videos from the members of the Bump Crew participating in 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (hereinafter 'World of Swoopa') have sparked a controversy over profanity, Honey J has posted an apology.
On the 22nd, Honey J expressed through her social media, "I deeply apologize to those who were hurt by my careless words in the YouTube video uploaded last night, and to the many who support me for the disappointment and discomfort I caused," in a lengthy post.
She continued, "We gathered in a comfortable setting to watch the first broadcast of Swoopa together with the members. During that time, I became immersed in the situation and reacted strongly towards the other dancer, and I deeply reflect on how my careless words made viewers uncomfortable," and apologized.
Additionally, she stated, "As soon as I recognized the situation, I conveyed my apologies directly to the dancers of the opposing crew. I apologize once again to the dancer who may have felt uncomfortable but generously understood. It was my fault for not properly recognizing the weight of my expressions. I sincerely apologize to everyone," she added.
She further remarked, "Through this incident, I realized how much impact a single word can have. I will not take any words lightly and will ensure not to repeat my mistakes. I will carefully listen to the criticisms from those who pointed out my shortcomings and will think and act more cautiously and deeply in the future," bowing her head once again.
Earlier, on the 21st, a reaction video from the first episode of Swoopa was posted on the personal YouTube channel of Bump Crew member Hyojin Choi, titled 'Today Again, Choi Hyojin.'
In the released video, Honey J made a remark while watching the opposing team's dancer's performance, saying, "Is that dancing? That's XX." Some viewers expressed discomfort, claiming that Honey J sexually harassed the opposing dancer. Additionally, a scene where Aiki said, "You XX," also drew criticism and furrowed brows. The video has since been deleted.
In relation to this, Aiki also posted an apology, stating, "I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable due to my emotionally charged expressions at that time. The more sincere one is about the stage, the more emotions can take precedence, but I have once again realized that even those emotions must be careful not to hurt others. I apologize once again to the opposing crew," bowing his head.
