Actor Choi Bo-min has been cast in a Philippine drama, continuing his global journey.

On the 16th, Choi Bo-min confirmed his role as Alex Jang in the original content 'Beauty Empire,' which was released on Viu, Asia's largest regional OTT platform.

'Beauty Empire' is set in 2025, focusing on the beauty industry, which has become a massive market in the Philippines and Korea. It features various social media influencers, beauty brand founders, and live commerce sellers, depicting the competition and conflicts surrounding beauty.

In 'Beauty Empire,' Choi Bo-min plays the role of Alex Jang, a Korean entrepreneur. With a relaxed personality and quick wit, he shows interest in the protagonist Noreen Alfonso and helps him, while also possessing a mysterious aura amidst the fierce power struggles in the beauty industry.

Notably, Choi Bo-min will share the screen with top local actors such as Barbie Forteza and rising icons of the MZ generation like Kyline Alcantara. This casting reaffirms his strong global popularity as a leading figure in the next generation of the Korean Wave, showcasing his diverse activities from singing to acting.

Through 'Beauty Empire,' Choi Bo-min is expected to showcase his refined acting skills, honed over a long period, and capture the hearts of local fans in the Philippines. Anticipation is high for Choi Bo-min's global journey as he aims to resonate with audiences beyond Korea.

Additionally, Choi Bo-min will make his screen debut in the movie 'Gyeonggi Train,' set to be released on July 9. He will appear for the first time in the film as Woo-jin, a PD from a YouTube company, and has already garnered attention by winning the AAA Potential Award at the 9th Asia Artist Awards held in Bangkok, Thailand, last December.

Choi Bo-min debuted in 2017 as a member of the boy group Golden Child and first ventured into acting in 2019 with the Playlist drama 'Ateen2.' He has since established himself as an actor through roles in tvN's 'Melting Me Softly,' JTBC's '18 Again,' and his first leading role in KakaoTV's original 'Shadow Beauty.'

The Philippine drama 'Beauty Empire,' featuring Choi Bo-min, is available on Viu, Asia's largest regional OTT platform, and will also be broadcast on July 7 by the Philippines' largest broadcasting company, GMA.
