Singer Eun-jong has publicly refuted the claims made by her ex-husband Yoon Ddan-dan and released a video of the alleged assault.
On the 17th, Eun-jong posted on social media, "After my husband's statement, I have been quietly sorting things out to avoid public disputes. However, I felt compelled to write this as the circumstances of the damage could lead to misunderstandings that may force others with similar experiences into further distortion and silence."
She continued, "While my husband may have given what he could, he ultimately did not uphold what he should have. During the divorce process, I hoped for at least minimal respect and the continuation of promises between us, rather than compensation or conditions. However, trust was repeatedly broken until the end, and this relationship can no longer be covered by silence. The claims of 'preemptive verbal abuse and assault' and 'complete financial burden' made by my husband are not true, and the issues regarding living expenses, property division, and custody of our dog have been conveyed without many circumstances and contexts being included."
She added, "After confirming the infidelity in 2024, I was in pain every day, hitting myself until my chest was bruised and crying. My husband, upon seeing this, sneered, saying 'xx years oh wow,' and while I was crying over our wedding photos, he would go inside at night to download pornography or talk with friends."
Eun-jong explained that despite this, they had promised to proceed with Yoon Ddan-dan's activities without controversy, as she was still involved in his work.
After believing her husband's affair had ended, Eun-jong discovered it was ongoing. She stated, "Even while a lawsuit for adultery was in progress, I ensured that all of Yoon Ddan-dan's schedules proceeded without social controversy as promised with my husband. However, while I was sorting out my feelings, further evidence of the affair emerged, and the trust that had been tenuously held was easily shattered."
She continued, "Ultimately, my husband's attitude seemed to be an attempt to cover all responsibilities with mere apologies and financial compensation, and I felt there was no longer any reason to remain silent," explaining her reason for revealing Yoon Ddan-dan's infidelity.
Eun-jong emphasized, "The claim that 'the wife engaged in preemptive verbal abuse and assault' is not true," and added, "In the early days of our marriage, my husband repeatedly displayed violent behavior due to emotional fluctuations. Throwing objects, slamming tables, and cursing reminded me of the trauma from our dating days," thus mentioning Yoon Ddan-dan's violence.
Eun-jong did not explicitly state that her eardrum was damaged due to Yoon Ddan-dan's assault. However, she indicated throughout her writing that the damage to her eardrum was a result of his actions, mentioning incidents such as "damage to my eardrum at my husband's place during our dating period," "being choked by my husband during college, having a laundry rack broken, being thrown onto a pile of pig's feet, and being kicked in the neck," and "the aftereffects of eardrum damage from past assaults," as well as "being hurt more by my husband's guilt-free attitude."
Eun-jong announced her intention to take legal action, stating, "I am preparing legal action against the dissemination of false information and defamation that occurred during this process." She added, "I have also secured evidence that close acquaintances of my husband are spreading false information to fans and acquaintances without fact-checking, and I am considering taking action. If necessary statements arise in the future, I will quietly prove everything through legal procedures. Even if it takes time, more truths will definitely be revealed."
Finally, Eun-jong released a video that appears to show her being assaulted by Yoon Ddan-dan. She stated, "Considering my husband's social activities, I have never held him criminally responsible. I happened to secure evidence that could prove this fact and am sharing part of the situation in video form," explaining, "The original is highly provocative and has been edited to some extent. It is at a level that can gauge the atmosphere and flow of the assaults that have occurred."
The video shows a man cursing and assaulting another person. Additionally, there is a scene where a woman appears to be grabbed by the hair and slammed onto a table, accompanied by the sound of a heavy impact, adding to the shock.
Yoon Ddan-dan and Eun-jong tied the knot in March 2019 after five years of dating, but they faced a breakup after six years of marriage.
On the 12th, Eun-jong stated, "Due to infidelity that was not resolved in one instance and the violence that occurred in the subsequent emotional battles, the relationship has become irreparably damaged, leading to a lawsuit for adultery and separation," claiming Yoon Ddan-dan's infidelity and domestic violence.
In response, on the 14th, Yoon Ddan-dan claimed that his wife had verbally abused and assaulted him, stating, "I was mentally and financially exhausted by my wife." He also admitted to the infidelity, saying, "I no longer had the confidence to maintain the marriage, and no matter how many apologies I made, my wife continued to demand more. I ended up giving away all cash, half of the music rights, the car, and custody of our dog 'Dae-gi' due to her saying, 'If you give me the music revenue, I'll divorce you.' Recently, she demanded an additional 20 million won, and I have no more money to give, so I am sorry."
