The police have announced that they have requested a drug analysis for comedian Lee Kyung-kyu (65), who is suspected of driving after taking medication (violation of the Road Traffic Act).

Park Hyun-soo, acting chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a regular press briefing on the 16th, "We are currently in the pre-investigation stage and are continuing to investigate the facts."

The police have urgently requested a drug analysis from the National Forensic Service on the 9th.

It is reported that Lee Kyung-kyu mistakenly drove another person's car of the same make and model as his own due to a parking attendant's error at an indoor golf practice facility in Gangnam, Seoul, around 2 PM on the 8th.

Upon receiving a report of suspected vehicle theft, the police conducted a breath and drug test on Lee Kyung-kyu, which resulted in a positive response in the preliminary drug test.

In this regard, Lee Kyung-kyu's agency stated, "It's a misunderstanding. There were no drugs involved. He was driving after taking medication for a cold." They added, "(He has probably) been taking medication for panic disorder for over 10 years, which may have led to the detection of a psychoactive drug in the test. We submitted the medication packaging, but since drugs were detected, the police are investigating." They emphasized, "We are clarifying everything with the police, and it will all be resolved."

Lee Kyung-kyu previously revealed on his YouTube channel that he experienced panic disorder while crossing Australia in the KBS entertainment program 'Men's Qualification'.

He recalled, "I was running for 10 hours a day, and I couldn't see anything. There was anxiety that came from that. Suddenly, I started crying. I collapsed in the car after crying continuously. I couldn't stand. That's when I started feeling unwell. My chest felt tight, and I thought I was going to die," and mentioned that he has been taking medication for the past 10 years.

Currently, Lee Kyung-kyu is active in various programs, including TV Chosun's 'Modern Historical Mystery' and Channel A's 'Find the Secret to Success: Boss Attack'.
