Former actress and broadcaster Jeong Ga-eun (48) has faced realistic challenges while attempting to become a taxi driver.

On the 9th, a video titled ‘What Happened on the Last Day of Taxi New Training.. OMG’ was released on her YouTube channel ‘Wonder Ga-eun Jeong Ga-eun’.

In this video, Jeong Ga-eun candidly shared her realistic concerns and difficulties ahead of her taxi company interview. She had previously detailed her new challenge, including obtaining a taxi driver’s license after expressing her financial struggles.

The production team asked Jeong Ga-eun, “You have to go for the taxi company interview, right?” to which she replied, “Of course I do. But I can’t work full-time for a month. I have to go out again if broadcasting work comes up,” expressing her desire for a ‘part-time’ position.

However, there were no part-time positions available. A representative from a taxi company tried to help her by saying, “I’ll introduce you,” but the response on the introduction call was, “We need drivers, not talent.”

Jeong Ga-eun smiled bitterly and said, “Am I not needed? I live in Guri, and I have perseverance and responsibility,” showing her desperation.

The following preview included a scene of Jeong Ga-eun visiting the taxi company herself, hinting that her unwavering challenge would continue.

Previously, Jeong Ga-eun confessed her financial struggles through her YouTube channel, stating, “I firmly thought there would be no ‘remarriage’ in my life, but I’m wondering if I should these days,” and added, “After the movie, there hasn’t been any work. I look at the money the company deposits, and it feels overwhelming.”

She also received warm support for revealing her new challenge of taking the taxi qualification exam, while also facing speculation about ‘retirement’ and whether she would be transitioning to a different career.

At that time, she confidently passed the exam, saying, “I heard that if you work hard, you can earn 10 million won a month. These days, even large companies can’t earn that much. If done well, it could be a good job,” expressing her expectations.

However, she clarified, “I’m not quitting broadcasting to become a taxi driver. The job of an entertainer is unstable, so I’m in the process of preparing a second plan for my future,” and added, “It’s not as prosperous as before, but I’m managing to get by. My financial struggles are not at a serious level.”

Jeong Ga-eun married her husband, who is the same age, in 2016 and has one daughter, but they divorced in 2017.
