Broadcaster Ahn Sun-young shared her daily life caring for her mother who has dementia.
On the 18th, Ahn Sun-young posted on Instagram, "As I live, I find life. If you look for it, there are things to be grateful for everywhere. I try to live today with gratitude from yesterday and comfort from the future."
The video shows Ahn Sun-young driving with her mother in the car.
Ahn Sun-young said, "It must be a car I've driven dozens of times over the years, but thanks to my mom saying, 'Whose car is this? The red one is nice. Is this your car? You've succeeded!' I decided to consider it a successful life," and added, "She can't remember where her home is, where she is currently staying, or even what she had for lunch, but she remembers me clearly, and that's enough."
She continued, "When I played songs by Patty Kim, whom she used to love, she was so happy. She seems to be in good spirits today, and that makes me feel good too," expressing her affectionate feelings.
After seeing this, a netizen commented, "I cried thinking of my mom. I have also forgiven my mom now. I am grateful for her existence." Ahn Sun-young replied, "It took me over 40 years to forgive, but now that I have forgiven everything, my heart feels so at ease."
Ahn Sun-young married a businessman three years younger than her in 2013 and has a son. She appeared on MBC's entertainment show 'Flower Bouquet' with her mother in 2010. Recently, she revealed that her mother has been battling dementia for seven years.
