Singer Kim Jong-kook recently revealed that the secret to his full cash purchase of a house worth about 6.2 billion won is "purely saving."
On the broadcast of KBS2's 'Problematic Men in the Attic' on the 8th, YouTuber Chimchakman, who is referred to as the 'YouTube Yoo Jae-suk' with approximately 2.8 million subscribers and a cumulative view count of 3.2 billion, made a solo appearance.
MC Hong Jin-kyung asked, "Where do you spend the most of your earnings?" to which Chimchakman replied, "I spend a lot on stocks."
However, he lamented, "I lose it all. If I just stay still, I can manage. But when I try to mix it up, it gets worse," and added, "It's like a ghost; when I go to the domestic market, it melts away. Wasn't it said that if you don't invest in the US market, you're a fool? They said the US market was the answer."
In contrast, Kim Jong-kook, known as the representative miser in the entertainment industry, emphasized, "I absolutely believe in earning and saving."
Kim Jong-kook mentioned that he is not good with new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), stating, "I don't use mobile banking and visit the bank in person."
Hong Jin-kyung was surprised and asked, "Do you go to the bank, oppa?" Chimchakman also questioned, "Isn't it strange that the person who has the least information to be taken by AI is so cautious about personal information?" Kim Jong-kook responded, "Aren't you uneasy about AI?" and expressed his preference for analog methods.
Previously, Kim Jong-kook completed the registration for his recent purchase of a unit in Nonhyeon Apelbaum 2nd phase in Gangnam, Seoul, for 6.2 billion won. Considering that the villa does not have a mortgage, it is estimated that he purchased it entirely in cash.
Nonhyeon Apelbaum is a luxury villa in townhouse style located in the area of 260 Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It consists of a total of 76 units when combining the 1st and 2nd phases. Celebrities such as actor Jang Geun-suk and Lee Yo-won reside there.
