Comedian Shim Jin-hwa (44) confessed to her trauma from sexual assault.

Shim Jin-hwa appeared as a guest alongside fellow comedians Jeong Joo-ri, Kim Mi-ryeo, and Lee Kyung-boon in a new episode of singer Lee Ji-hye's YouTube channel ‘Not Annoying Attention-Seeking Sister’ released on the 8th.

In the video released that day, when Lee Ji-hye asked, “I think there must be many professional hardships,” Lee Kyung-boon replied, “Because they are funny people on television, there are times when they are looked down upon or treated rudely.”

Shim Jin-hwa lamented, “Mothers keep touching me,” adding, “I’ve had my earrings fly off because they touched me so much.”

In particular, she revealed, “Once, I was coming out of a rest area bathroom. Two tour buses stopped right there. Dozens of mothers got off, and suddenly I couldn’t breathe,” confessing, “I was so scared from the unwanted physical contact.”

Lee Ji-hye empathized, saying, “It’s like a trauma that you experienced,” and Shim Jin-hwa stated, “In that moment of fear, I quickly turned around and left.”

She added, “I used to like public bathhouses, but mothers would say, ‘You haven’t gained weight,’ and they would look at my body a lot. I haven’t gone since then.”

Meanwhile, Shim Jin-hwa debuted in 2003 as part of SBS's 7th public recruitment. She gained great popularity with the ‘Beauty Trio’ corner alongside Jang Kyung-hee and Kim Hyung-eun on ‘People Who Find Laughter,’ and in 2006, she also debuted as a singer. She was active with the title track that remade Koyote's ‘Destiny,’ participating in various events and broadcasts. In September 2011, she married popular comedian Kim Won-hyo and appeared together on various entertainment programs.
