Jeong Joong-sik, the original creator of ‘I Am Firefly’, revealed his copyright fees.
In the episode aired on the 5th of SBS’s ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 - You Are My Destiny’, singer Hwang Ga-ram’s original song ‘I Am Firefly’ featured Jeong Joong-sik.
Jeong Joong-sik introduced himself by saying, “If I say I’m Jeong Joong-sik, the singer who is part of the band Joong-sik, people might not know. I sang ‘I Am Firefly’. I am the original creator of this song.”
Jeong Joong-sik also mentioned the copyright fees for ‘I Am Firefly’. He said, “Before ‘I Am Firefly’ became popular, I received 10,000 won, 200,000 won. Recently, I receive the price of a fully-loaded compact car per month.”
He added, “It is being sold to other countries as well. I keep getting contacted to sign copyright agreements.”
