Actor Kim Soo-hyun (37), who has been embroiled in personal life controversies related to his late ex-girlfriend Kim Sae-ron, has reportedly been sued by an advertiser.
On the 2nd, YTN Star reported that an advertising company that had a contract with Kim Soo-hyun filed a lawsuit for approximately 2.8 billion won in damages against Kim Soo-hyun and his agency Gold Medalist at the Seoul Central District Court on the 25th of last month.
The company stated that due to the recent allegations and controversies surrounding Kim Soo-hyun's personal life, negative public opinion has expanded, making it impossible to maintain the model contract, leading to its termination. They are seeking damages for the termination of the model contract against Kim Soo-hyun and Gold Medalist, who they believe are at fault.
On the 29th of last month, it was reported that two companies that had advertising contracts with Kim Soo-hyun also filed lawsuits against him and Gold Medalist for the return of model fees and damages. The total amount of the lawsuits from the two companies is said to be over 3 billion won.
Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, stated to Star Today, "It has not been confirmed whether a lawsuit has been filed."
Previously, Kim Soo-hyun was embroiled in allegations from the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, claiming that he had been in a relationship with her since she was a minor and that he pressured her to repay debts. Kim Soo-hyun has maintained that these claims are "groundless" and filed a lawsuit for over 12 billion won against the opposing party (the family and Kim Se-yeon from the Garosero Research Institute) during an emergency press conference on March 31.
