Wendy, a member of the girl group Red Velvet, has left SM Entertainment and joined hands with Ascend (ASND).
On the 25th, Ascend announced, "Wendy has signed an exclusive contract with us," adding, "We are pleased to be working with an artist who has proven her outstanding capabilities in various fields."
Although Wendy has left her previous agency, SM Entertainment, she will continue to participate in Red Velvet's group activities. Ascend stated, "We will actively support Wendy's activities with Red Velvet," and added, "We will do our best to help Wendy shine even more as she trusts Ascend."
Wendy debuted as a member of Red Velvet in 2014 and gained global love with numerous hit songs such as "Ice Cream Cake," "Red Flavor," and "Psycho."
In 2021, she began her solo activities with her first mini-album "Like Water," and released her second mini-album "Wish You Hell" in March 2024. She has also participated in drama OSTs such as "Goodbye," "Because I Love You," and "My Day is Filled with You."
Additionally, she has served as a judge on Mnet's "Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival" and KBS 2TV's "The Dantala," and has been the DJ for SBS Power FM's "Wendy's Young Street" for several years.
Meanwhile, Ascend is home to group members Park Ji-won, Baek Ji-hyun, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-kyung, and Song Ha-young from the group Fromis_9.
