Actress Park Han-byul confessed that it has been "really regrettable" regarding her husband Yoo In-seok's involvement in the 'Burning Sun Gate', saying, "Every day has felt like hell."
In the episode of TV Chosun's 'Dad and Me' that aired on the 25th, Park Han-byul's appearance was included. In the preview for that day, she stated, "It's been 6 years since I was on air," and added, "I think I have felt a sense of responsibility as a wife due to my husband's situation, which has led to a gap in my activities."
Previously, Park Han-byul married Yoo In-seok, the former CEO of Yuri Holdings, in 2017 and they have two sons together. However, just two years after their marriage, in 2019, her husband Yoo was embroiled in allegations related to the 'Burning Sun Gate', leading to a halt in her entertainment activities.
Yoo In-seok was accused of providing sexual services to foreign investors along with Seungri from Big Bang, and later received a sentence of 1 year and 8 months in prison with a 3-year probation for charges including embezzlement, prostitution mediation, violation of food sanitation laws, and violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
Regarding her husband's controversy, Park Han-byul said, "It's really regrettable," and confessed, "Every day felt like hell, so I lived cut off from the world. I didn't contact anyone."
Her father, who appeared on the show with her, shared in an interview with the production team, "It feels like coming out of a long tunnel, and I didn't ask more about the incident for fear of hurting her."
During a meal with his daughter, he first mentioned, "Dad has developed social anxiety. Although it has been 6 years, it feels like coming out of a long tunnel," honestly stating that he too has developed social anxiety due to the Burning Sun Gate controversy.
He added, "Even if I didn't sleep for days, I wasn't sleepy. I didn't want to eat, didn't get drunk, and thought about jumping off a high mountain. I had many extreme thoughts."
Park Han-byul shed tears, saying, "It's just that feeling of regret," and her father said, "Every time that happens, I remember my child crying. I told myself, 'You shouldn't do that' to gather my thoughts."
Meanwhile, Park Han-byul, who halted her activities due to her husband's incident, has been running a café in Jeju and has only shared updates through YouTube and social media. After 6 years, she is making her first broadcast appearance and has recently signed an exclusive contract with a new agency, signaling the resumption of her activities.
