Singer Jessie paid tribute to the late Wheesung.

She continued, "You have inspired me and many others greatly. You were loved so much and will continue to be a source of longing. The world has lost a legend, but your music will live on forever," she wrote.
She added, "Rest in heaven, brother. Your influence and kindness will never be forgotten," expressing her feelings towards Wheesung.
Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 6:29 PM on the 10th and was pronounced dead. He was 43 years old.
It was reported that a syringe was found near the deceased at the time of discovery. The police stated that there were no signs of external intrusion or criminal suspicion and requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
The National Forensic Service plans to conduct an autopsy on the deceased's body on the morning of the 12th to investigate the cause of death, including whether drug use was involved.
Wheesung had previously collapsed in 2020 after being administered a sleep anesthetic and was investigated by the police. He was charged with habitual use of propofol (violation of the Narcotics Control Act) and was sentenced to a suspended prison term the following year.
The family is reported to be proceeding with cremation without holding a separate funeral for the deceased after the autopsy.
