Michelle Trachtenberg, an actress well-known in South Korea for the popular American drama 'Gossip Girl', has passed away.
According to AP News and ABC News on the 26th local time, police reported that Trachtenberg was found dead in an apartment in New York around 8 AM on the 26th. She was 39 years old. No signs of foul play were found at the scene, and the police are investigating the exact cause of death.
ABC News cited sources saying that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and may have experienced complications related to it.
A native of New York, Trachtenberg made her debut as a child actress in the Nickelodeon TV series 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete' (1993-1996) and gained recognition through films like 'Harriet the Spy' (1996) and 'Inspector Gadget' (1999).
She later gained popularity for her role as the protagonist's family member in the drama 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' (1997-2003). From 2008 to 2012, she played the role of the antagonist Georgina Sparks in the hit drama 'Gossip Girl', which ran for six seasons.
