Actor Park Hee-soon has addressed the allegations of 800 million won in tax evasion.
On the 17th, Park Hee-soon’s agency, NS Entertainment, stated, “Since his debut, Park Hee-soon has been diligently filing taxes with the advice of a tax representative. This taxation issue arose during the process of tax procedures with the tax authorities and is not directly related to the actor's legal obligations,” denying the tax evasion allegations.
They continued, “Reports stating that we are undergoing tax dispute procedures are not true. We are currently in the pre-review stage and have filed an objection, and we are feeling perplexed as reports have been made without the results being out yet. The actor is currently undergoing some adjustments due to differences in positions between the tax authorities and the tax representative, and this adjustment process is expected to be completed. As a citizen, he will diligently pay his taxes,” they explained.
The agency added, “We are currently in the process of clarifying with the tax authorities, and the actor is cooperating sincerely. The actor promises to continue to diligently fulfill his tax filing and legal obligations.”
Previously, reports emerged that the National Tax Service expanded its tax investigation of Starship Entertainment last year to include Park Hee-soon, who was previously affiliated with the subsidiary King Kong by Starship, resulting in the collection of approximately 800 million won in taxes.
