Singer Kim Yang paid tribute to the late Song Dae-gwan.
On the 7th, Kim Yang wrote on Instagram, "Senior Song Dae-gwan was like a father to me in the music industry... Around this time last year, my dad passed away, and this year, I had to say goodbye to Senior Song Dae-gwan. Losing two fathers feels so empty."
She continued, "I had an open surgery for uterine fibroids yesterday, so I couldn't move or visit him, and it breaks my heart."
Kim Yang expressed, "If it weren't for him, the singer Kim Yang would never have been known this much. I am grateful, sorry, and I love him. I sincerely pray for the repose of his soul."
The late Song Dae-gwan passed away this morning from a heart attack at the age of 78.
He debuted in 1967 with "The Kind Uncle." After a period of obscurity, he rose to prominence in 1975 with the hit "The Day the Sun Rises." He left behind numerous hits such as "One Train Ticket," "Four Beats," and "Popular Song." Along with Tae Jin-ah, Seol Woon-do, and the late Hyun-cheol, he was known as one of the "Four Kings of Trot."
The funeral home is at Seoul National University Hospital. The farewell ceremony will be held on the 9th at 9:30 AM at the Korean Singer Association, with the burial taking place at 11 AM.
