Singer Han Myung-sook, who sang 'The Man in the Yellow Shirt,' passed away on the 22nd at the age of 90.

Han Myung-sook was born in 1935 in Jin Nam Po, South Pyongan Province. After moving to the South, she began her singing career on the US 8th Army Show stage after joining the Taeyang Theater Company.

Her official debut song, 'The Man in the Yellow Shirt,' gifted by composer Son Seok-woo in 1961, received great love. The song became so popular that a movie based on it was produced in 1962.

Han Myung-sook released a series of hit songs in collaboration with composer Son Seok-woo, including 'Our Village,' 'It’s Snowing,' and 'Sentimental Guitar.'

The late singer received the National Culture Medal in 2000 and the KBS Music Awards Achievement Award in 2003.
