Broadcaster Dex revealed the current status of the rental fraud case.

On the 13th, Dex released a video titled "Thank you for waiting" on his YouTube channel 'Dex101'.

Returning to YouTube after a month, Dex introduced his recent situation, saying, "Recently, I've been decluttering. I was preparing for the new year by organizing things I had been attached to and couldn't throw away for some reason."

The production team asked Dex how the rental fraud case was progressing. Dex responded, "Let's cover that soon (on YouTube)," adding, "It's been a year and a half. It hasn't been resolved yet. So, regarding that matter, there are things currently in progress, and I plan to invite my lawyer to discuss it soon."

Dex also mentioned, "In a way, (the rental fraud incident) has become an issue. There were many articles at that time. Honestly, I thought there would be something from HUG (Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation). But, of course, it shouldn't be this way, yet I'm going through the same procedures and time as everyone else. It's very long and difficult," he added with a somber expression, evoking sympathy.

In September 2023, Dex revealed the details of the rental fraud on the MBC entertainment program 'All-Seeing Companion'. At that time, Dex met with a lawyer and said, "I took out a 90% loan for a rental of 270 million won." The lawyer responded, "The current rental market price is in the low 200 million won range," and the producer added, "The sale price is even lower, around 120 to 150 million won," which further flustered Dex.

The lawyer pointed out, "This is what is commonly referred to as a 'ghost rental'. The rental price is higher than the sale price." Dex said, "It's shocking. Initially, I had a contract with the landlord A for 270 million won without any issues. Then, A sold the house to B. I was unaware of this fact until I received a call from the bank informing me that the landlord had changed."

He continued, "The landlord is supposed to handle major issues like leaks. The house is old, and leaks occurred. I contacted B, but he told me to get the repair costs from the real estate agent he knew. When I contacted the real estate agent, they told me to proceed with the repairs. I spent about a million won on repairs, and when I tried to contact them for reimbursement, they went silent. I checked the real estate address and found out it was in a different area, not Incheon where I had contracted. It was a ghost real estate agency," he explained, recalling the absurd situation. B was not the landlord but someone who borrowed the name for a fee.

Dex mentioned that he had taken out HUG guarantee insurance at the time of the contract, and the lawyer explained, "Fortunately, the guarantee limit is set at 100%. In conclusion, the losses may be minimal. It's a fortunate case."
