Im Ji-yeon and Choo Young-woo have decided to live as a couple.
In the 10th episode of JTBC's weekend drama ‘The Tale of Lady Ok’ (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyuk and Choi Bo-yoon, produced by SLL and Corpus Korea), the heartfelt decision of Ok Tae-young (played by Im Ji-yeon) and Cheon Seung-hwi (played by Choo Young-woo), who have stepped onto the best stage of their lives, touched the hearts of viewers. The ratings reached 11.8% in the metropolitan area and 11.1% nationwide, setting a new record for itself once again (based on Nielsen Korea's paid households).
On this day, Ok Tae-young was shocked to learn that her husband, Seong Yoon-gyeom (played by Choo Young-woo), had given up his entire life to become her husband, and she was further shocked to find out that this was a scheme orchestrated by her brother-in-law, Seong Do-gyeom (played by Kim Jae-won), and the axe (played by Oh Dae-hwan). When Seong Yoon-gyeom, whom she met in the capital, did not return, they conspired to protect Ok Tae-young.
Unable to bear the thought of living a false life with her entire family colluding, Ok Tae-young decided to leave her life in Cheongsuhyeon and go with Cheon Seung-hwi. However, when her sister-in-law, Cha Mi-ryeong (played by Yeon Woo), was arrested on charges of murdering Lady Song (played by Jeon Ik-ryeong), she postponed her departure for a while.
Ok Tae-young learned that Cha Mi-ryeong had made a false confession to take on the sins of her mother, who had sacrificed many for revenge. Although she initially thought that Lady Song had made an extreme choice on her own, she discovered evidence that someone had harmed her, and it was revealed that the local magistrate, Oh Dal-seong (played by Yang Jun-mo), and Ji Haeng-soo (played by Shin Seung-hwan) were involved.
With a sharp eye, Ok Tae-young uncovered the truth of the incident and confessed everything to the authorities, clearing Cha Mi-ryeong's name. She also did her best to ensure that Cha Mi-ryeong would not end up in the same situation as Baek Do-gwang (played by Kim Seon-bin), who had been wrongfully accused of her parents' crimes in the past. As a result, Cha Mi-ryeong was acquitted, leaving a meaningful footprint to prevent innocent people from being exploited in the future.
Ok Tae-young's actions inspired the villagers. As she was preparing to leave after wrapping up the matter, she was led by Cheon Seung-hwi's hand and faced respect and cheers directed at her from various places in the market, causing her resolve to leave Cheongsuhyeon to waver.
In her confusion, Cheon Seung-hwi reassured Ok Tae-young that the precious life she had carved out for herself was deserving, and he too was living as the main character in his own story. He said, “So let’s not get caught,” and they vowed to live as Seong Yoon-gyeom, Ok Tae-young's husband, rather than Cheon Seung-hwi. Ok Tae-young shyly called him “my lord,” raising anticipation for the next episode.
