Recently, Lee Chae-yeon, a former member of IZ*ONE, who spoke out about the recent declaration of martial law by President Yoon Suk-yeol, announced that she would take legal action against the flood of malicious comments.

On the 23rd, Lee Chae-yeon's agency WM Entertainment stated, “Malicious comments and defamation related to Lee Chae-yeon are ongoing through online platforms and social media,” adding, “This is a serious criminal act that damages the artist's honor and personality, and we plan to take strong action against malicious defamation, slander, personal attacks, and the indiscriminate spread and reproduction of false information through continuous monitoring.”

The agency emphasized, “We will proceed with strong legal action without leniency against all illegal acts that occur thereafter,” and stated, “We will continue to do our best to protect the artist's rights and for the fans who support the artist.”

Previously, after the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol was thwarted due to the absence of members from the People Power Party, Lee Chae-yeon engaged in a conversation on a fan communication platform, saying, “Isn’t it a position to talk about politics? What position can talk about politics?”

Lee Chae-yeon expressed her beliefs, stating, “As a citizen, I will take care of it myself. I can speak out because I am a celebrity. Thank you for your concern. Let’s live in a better world. Let’s love freely in such a world.”
