NewJeans, the group that declared its separation from ADOR, has opened a new SNS account as they embark on a fresh start, and ADOR has released its first statement.
On the 18th, ADOR stated in an official position, "NewJeans has dedicated platforms created for communication with fans, as well as official SNS accounts on Instagram and X (Twitter), and we hope that the NewJeans members will continue to communicate with fans through these official channels as before."
They continued, "All accounts other than the official SNS accounts created by ADOR have been established without prior consultation due to the exclusive contract," and added, "We are actually receiving inquiries and complaints from third parties, including advertisers, regarding these accounts and content postings. Engaging in separate entertainment activities through these accounts could lead to legal issues, and we have conveyed our concerns to the artist and their legal representative."
Previously, on the 14th, NewJeans opened a new SNS account under the ID 'jeanzforfree' to connect with fans. They stated, "This is really us; it feels strange. We missed you all. We will meet here more often," dismissing allegations of impersonation while actively communicating with fans by posting activity photos and videos.
Meanwhile, NewJeans is currently in a dispute over their exclusive contract with ADOR. They are calling for the termination of the contract, but ADOR claims it is still valid and has even filed a confirmation lawsuit.
NewJeans has been actively performing, including appearing as guests at the concert of Japanese artist YOASOBI on the 7th. During that performance, they refrained from mentioning the name 'NewJeans,' showing caution regarding trademark disputes with ADOR.
