‘Dog Singer’ Son Heon-soo became a dad, embracing his daughter just a year after getting married.
On October 7, he tied the knot with his girlfriend who is seven years younger, and on the 15th at 1:44 PM, he experienced the emotional moment of becoming a parent. On his way to the hospital for the delivery, he shared, “It was brief, but the snowflakes fell beautifully. It felt like welcoming a new world.” He expressed, “I couldn’t stop crying. It was the most emotional moment of my life,” reflecting on becoming a father.
In particular, he shared the noble experience of becoming a dad just two months apart from his close friend Park Soo-hong in the year of Gapjin 2024. With the commonality of both having daughters, he laughed during a phone call with Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today on the 16th, saying, “We were already talking about visiting all the Disneyland parks around the world with our kids.” He added, “I’m so grateful to have a friend of the same age, and I’m doubly happy,” mentioning that he received congratulatory calls filled with encouragement to treat his wife well.
Son Heon-soo stated, “I don’t want to impose a rigid education, and my wife feels similarly.” He expressed his desire for his child to decide their own path and to live happily, saying, “I want to nurture the child’s talents and interests rather than just focusing on studying.”
Having been a non-marriage advocate, he mentioned that seeing his close friend Park Soo-hong, who married later in life, changed his perspective on marriage. Influenced by witnessing his friend’s happiness and fulfilling life, he is now feeling significant changes in his own life after getting married.
“If I lived in a black-and-white world before, after marriage, everything looks colorful,” he revealed his happiness, adding, “I wonder if I’ve ever had such happy times in my life; every day, every moment is filled with joy. My sense of responsibility has grown because of my wife, and after having a child, it has multiplied.”
Now that he is a father, Son Heon-soo is preparing to run even harder in the new year. Currently, he is appearing on KBS1’s ‘The Birth of a Worker’ and ‘6 O’Clock My Hometown,’ helping elderly people in rural areas across the country.
He mentioned, “I often participate in programs where I mainly meet elderly people while traveling to the countryside, which requires tremendous stamina,” but added, “It’s very rewarding, and I receive a lot of wisdom and teachings. I feel blessed in my life.”
He also hinted at active activities as a singer. After showcasing his talent and charm through MBN’s competition programs ‘Voice Trot’ and ‘Trot Fighter,’ he said, “My trot song ‘Flower Palanquin’ is doing well, and I’m preparing an exciting song with a nightclub vibe. I look forward to seeing you on a more exciting stage.”
