Singer Lee Seung-yoon expressed his opinion on President Yoon Suk-yeol's address to the public.
On the 7th, Lee Seung-yoon posted on his Instagram story, starting with, "I really tried not to say more."
Lee Seung-yoon criticized, "I think it is uncomfortable to hear a statement that ends with 'I will not do it again. I apologize for causing concern' without a sincere explanation of the necessity and context, or the misjudgment and arrogance. Isn't it fair to say that this attitude of only partially delegating responsibility is quite uncomfortable for an ordinary citizen who has lived quietly and was hit by martial law?"
President Yoon Suk-yeol declared a state of emergency at 10:25 PM on the 3rd, but declared its lifting at 4:27 AM on the 4th, about 6 hours later, in response to the National Assembly's demand for its repeal.
In a public address at 10 AM on the 7th, just four days after the declaration of martial law, President Yoon said, "I sincerely apologize to the citizens who were very surprised and concerned. This declaration of martial law stemmed from my urgency as the president, who bears the ultimate responsibility for state affairs. I will delegate future political stability measures, including my term, to our party. The future operation of state affairs will be jointly managed by our party and the government."
The National Assembly will hold a plenary session at 5 PM that day to vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol.
