Dex, who is active as a broadcaster and actor, has expressed concerns about being a victim of stalker fans and announced legal action.
On the 3rd, Dex's agency, Kick the Hurdle Studio, stated, "Dex's YouTube channel 'DEX101' will take a slightly longer break," adding, "Despite our best efforts over the past four years amidst a busy schedule, we have determined that internal reorganization is necessary. Taking a break is not about stopping, but about showing a better version of ourselves in the future."
They further stated, "Recently, we have frequently discovered cases of unauthorized use of broadcast works (portrait rights, name rights, photos, pure edits, etc.) featuring Dex both online and offline," and emphasized, "Both the video works and Dex (Kim Jin-young)'s portrait and name rights are protected by copyright law, and unauthorized use may result in legal penalties. We will take legal action regarding the unauthorized works."
The agency warned, "We are aware of the so-called 'sasaeng' (stalker fans) infringing on the private lives of our artists through internal monitoring and reports from fans," and added, "We will take a firm response to stalking crimes that continuously invade the private lives of our artists, such as visiting their residences and following them to take unauthorized photos and videos, causing anxiety and fear."
They continued, "Due to the spread of false information and various distorted rumors by some netizens against our artists, not only the artists but also their families are suffering mental harm," and urged, "We hope that the severe stalking behavior causing extreme harm will stop immediately. Kick the Hurdle Studio will take legal action without settlement against those who spread malicious and baseless false information to protect the basic human rights of our artists."
