Lovelyz's Jin has announced a strong response to trolls.
On the 30th, Jin stated on SNS, "I want to first apologize for bringing up a somewhat heavy topic during this warm end of the year," and added, "Recently, baseless comments have been continuously posted on my Instagram and YouTube videos."
Jin reflected, "A few years ago, after posting a video related to idol dating, I felt that I might have caused trouble for the members who were active at that time without realizing I was part of a group. I have reflected a lot on that. Since then, I have tried my best to avoid causing any harm in my activities. Even if I choose a different path, I am still a member of Lovelyz," and continued, "So, I have thought a lot before stepping onto this stage, contemplating dozens and hundreds of times. There may be those who do not support me because I chose a different path. However, I respect their feelings."
She added, "I was somewhat prepared for this, but my desire to perform with the members was greater, so I decided to join. Since the hiatus was long, I practiced even harder. Some days I stayed alone, and on other days, I rented a practice room to shout out parts I couldn't normally handle, thinking only of the members and fans, practicing every day. I honestly believe that this concert is my last, and that feeling has not changed."
Jin expressed her desire not to feel ashamed of herself and not to disappoint her fans, saying, "Although the concert is not over yet, I have realized once again that my choice was indeed the right one, and I am truly grateful to the fans. You have given me precious memories that others may not easily experience, and above all, you welcomed me on stage with genuine warmth."
She continued, "I do not want to ask those who cannot support me now to support me in the future," stating, "Everyone can feel and think differently, and that is their freedom. But why should I have to endure malicious comments just because I was an entertainer or a singer? Is it natural to receive hate just because I am a celebrity? My heart has already been torn apart countless times. I have spent a long time alone, feeling so difficult that I wanted to let go of my precious life," indicating that she would no longer tolerate hate comments.
She added, "You don't have to support me. But please do not come to my Instagram and YouTube accounts to leave rumors and hate comments. If asking not to leave hate comments is my greed, then please do not come back later asking for leniency while crying. I am still receiving numerous hate comments every day. If I have to accept hate comments because of my public profession, then I will. I know very well that ignoring trolls is the best way, but I will not tolerate the spread of false information and excessive hate comments."
Jin debuted with Lovelyz in November 2014. They received great love with releases like "Candy Jelly Love," "Hello," and "Ah-Choo," but disbanded in November 2021 when their contract with the agency ended.
