The first music video by BTS to reach 2 billion views has been born.
The music video for the digital single 'Dynamite', which was simultaneously released worldwide on August 21, 2020, through HYBE (Chairman Bang Si-hyuk) Labels' YouTube channel, surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube around 9:16 AM on the 4th. With this, 'Dynamite' has become the first BTS music video to reach the milestone of 2 billion views, setting another record. It added 100 million views about 9 months after hitting 1.9 billion views on December 19 last year.
'Dynamite' is a bright and cheerful disco pop genre healing song, and it is the first English song presented by BTS. The music video features an infectious rhythm combined with a lively and dynamic performance. It was produced with a vibrant concept that captures a cheerful atmosphere, harmonizing the enjoyment of music with energetic group choreography.
'Dynamite' recently ranked 34th on the list of 'Most Streamed Songs Worldwide in the Last 10 Years' announced by global music streaming service Apple Music. This song, along with 'Butter', is the only K-pop group song to make it onto that chart, once again proving BTS's influence.
BTS has set a monumental milestone with 'Dynamite'. With this song, they became the first Korean artist to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the main song chart in the United States, and maintained the top position for a total of 3 weeks. They also won 'Best Song' at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and 'Top Selling Song' at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, they achieved remarkable success by obtaining the fastest streaming diamond certification (over 500 million streams) from the Japan Record Association.
