Actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo became emotional as she reminisced about her memories with the late Lee Joo-il during her youthful days.
A recently released video features the late Lee Joo-il interviewing Sunwoo Yong-yeo during his visit to LA, USA in 1987. At that time, Sunwoo Yong-yeo was 38 years old, and now, 38 years later, she is 81, reflecting on those heart-wrenching memories.
Lee Joo-il greeted her by saying, “Hello, could you share an update with the viewers?”
In response, Sunwoo Yong-yeo expressed, “How did you come? I really want to act again. I hope to meet the fans,” revealing her longing for her hometown. She continued, “I guess this is nostalgia for my hometown. I’m getting teary,” ultimately moving the hearts of viewers.
Although the interview was brief, it captured Sunwoo Yong-yeo's sincere feelings and has become a topic of discussion once again across the years.
Sunwoo Yong-yeo confessed that she was a victim of a scam during her time in the United States, suffering a significant financial loss. She shared that she was shocked and bedridden for months after being betrayed by people she trusted, stating, “Such things should never happen again,” while getting teary. Her daughter, Choi Yeon-je, recalled, “It broke my heart to see my mom struggling. Watching her start acting again made me feel that there is a calling for her.”
