Global artist Jennie’s (JENNIE) musicality is being recognized worldwide.
On the 21st (local time), Billboard in the United States announced its list of ‘The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2025 (So Far): Critic’s Picks’, where Jennie’s title track ‘like JENNIE’ from her first solo studio album ‘Ruby’ was selected as number one.
Billboard described ‘like JENNIE’ as “a powerful two-minute track that not only hits the Billboard ‘HOT 100’ and ‘Pop Airplay’ charts but also solidifies her status as the next generation it-girl,” and analyzed that “Jennie’s sharp rap flips all negative narratives, showcasing the most confident rap of her career.”
Furthermore, Billboard stated about ‘like JENNIE’, “This song continues to resonate globally beyond the K-Pop scene, peaking at number 83 on the ‘HOT 100’ and becoming the longest-charting song from ‘Ruby’. It has been embraced by the ‘American Pop Radio Top 40’ chart, which has historically not welcomed Korean-language content, as ‘like JENNIE’ stayed on the ‘Pop Airplay’ chart for 11 weeks, surpassing the English song ‘Mantra’,” praising it for “defying all expectations for today’s K-Pop hits.”
Previously, Jennie also topped Spotify’s ‘Global Impact List’ for the first half of 2025 with ‘like JENNIE’, proving her unmatched global status by placing nine songs, including ‘like JENNIE’, on that list.
