As Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 3 is gaining attention worldwide, there is controversy over the sale of illegal merchandise on a large Chinese online shopping mall.
On 'AliExpress', which sells to customers around the world, various illegal goods related to 'Squid Game', such as t-shirts and wall art, are being sold.
Previously, the distribution of illegal copies and unauthorized viewing issues in China regarding 'Squid Game' Seasons 1 and 2 caused significant controversy.

In particular, after the release of 'Squid Game' Season 1, sellers of 'knockoff' (fake) merchandise on large Chinese online shopping malls profited significantly.
At that time, foreign media such as the Hong Kong South China Morning Post reported, "Some of the top-selling products related to 'Squid Game' on Korean online shopping sites are being sold by companies in Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province and Anhui Province in China."
Above all, creating and selling merchandise that unlawfully uses the likenesses of actors such as Lee Jung-jae, who appeared in 'Squid Game', is a serious issue.
In response, Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University criticized, "This is truly a ridiculous act," and stated, "It is unacceptable to not only engage in illegal viewing but also to create illegal merchandise for their profit structure."
Additionally, Professor Seo asserted, "It needs to stop now," and emphasized, "The act of 'stealing' content from other countries must come to an end."
