Seungkwan, a member of the group Seventeen, has once again practiced sharing for his hometown, Jeju.
According to his agency Pledis Entertainment on the 11th, Seungkwan generously donated 20 million won to the National Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage Trust, asking that it be used to protect Jeju's precious heritage. The donation will be used for the preservation of the Jeju 4·3 records, which were registered as UNESCO World Heritage in April.
Hailing from Jeju, Seungkwan has been practicing sharing in various ways for his hometown. Last November, he was appointed as a Jeju ambassador and donated to the Jeju Love Donation Fund through the Jeju Provincial Office, contributing to the protection of the endangered Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin.

Additionally, during his attendance at the '13th UNESCO Youth Forum' held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France in 2023, Seungkwan drew attention by announcing that Jeju is the first region in the world to be designated in three categories of natural environment by UNESCO simultaneously. Seventeen, the group he belongs to, was the first K-pop artist to be assigned a special session at this event and was appointed as UNESCO's first youth goodwill ambassador last year, leading social contribution activities.
Meanwhile, Seventeen released their 5th studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' on the 26th of last month, marking their 10th debut anniversary. The new album recorded the highest initial sales (sales within the first week of release) among K-pop albums released this year and entered the main album chart 'Billboard 200' at number 2 (as of June 14), receiving a positive response from global music fans.
