Go Ji-yong, a former member of Sechs Kies, confessed that he was hospitalized due to liver dysfunction. He candidly shared his feelings during the time when he lost weight down to 63kg, as well as the life changes he chose.
On the 17th, Go Ji-yong appeared on KBS2's 'Salim Nam' and shared updates on his life as a CEO in the food industry.
During the broadcast, Go Ji-yong appeared noticeably thinner, seemingly aware of health concerns, and revealed, "Two years ago, my liver function dropped sharply, and I was hospitalized."
“At that time, my family was shocked. My mother was so worried that she rushed over,” he recalled, adding, “I am 180cm tall, but my weight dropped to 63kg. It felt like my body was sending me a signal.”
Following the advice of doctors, Go Ji-yong quit drinking and smoking altogether, stating, “I didn’t drink a single drop of alcohol for six months after that. Now, I have recovered a lot.”
Eun Ji-won, who appeared alongside him, said, “I was shocked when I first saw him. He looked different from when he was on a diet. But now, his expression has improved a lot,” showing a relieved demeanor.
After his activities with Sechs Kies, Go Ji-yong transformed into a businessman, confessing, “I have challenged various fields such as real estate development and bidets, but I was under so much stress that I was prescribed tranquilizers.”
After recovering his health, he opened a shabu-shabu restaurant, stating, “I became interested in diet-centered food business because I thought I needed to take care of my body.”
The broadcast also previewed Eun Ji-won and Jang Su-won visiting Go Ji-yong's restaurant.
Go Ji-yong expressed, “Talking with my brother brings back old memories, and it feels good,” adding, “I want to see all the Sechs Kies members together.”
