Yulhee, a former member of the group Laboum, opened up about her marriage and divorce from her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan.
On the 29th, during the broadcast of Channel A's entertainment program ‘Close Friend Documentary: Four-Person Dining Table’, Bang Eun-hee invited lawyer Yang So-young and Yulhee.
On that day, Yulhee mentioned that she had a premarital pregnancy with her ex-husband FT Island's Choi Min-hwan, saying, “My mother cried a lot.” She added, “My mother gave birth to me at 23. She said, ‘I hoped you wouldn’t live like me, why are you following in my footsteps?’ Over time, she gradually accepted it. I was 22 when I gave birth and 21 when I got pregnant.”
Regarding the breakdown of her marriage, she said, “I didn’t tell my parents about the situation. I told them not to ask anything. They found out when the divorce article came out.” She continued, “My mother saw that and called me in tears, asking, ‘Why didn’t you tell me it was hard?’”
She also mentioned, “At that time, I thought talking about the divorce was like spitting in my own face. I wanted to do it quietly and neatly, and I thought it was necessary for the children as well.” She added, “I had depression. I didn’t know, but my representative suggested I seek counseling.”
She explained, “While talking, there were moments when I would zone out. After the divorce, I thought I couldn’t adapt to being alone and couldn’t sleep, and they suggested I receive medication. But I stopped taking the medication while running.”
Yulhee married Choi Min-hwan in 2018 and has one son and two daughters. However, in 2023, after five years of marriage, they faced a breakdown. At that time, they agreed not to exchange alimony or property division, and Choi Min-hwan retained both custody and parental rights.
However, Yulhee revealed last October that during their marriage, Choi Min-hwan frequented entertainment establishments, leading her to file a lawsuit for a change in custody, alimony, and property division. Choi Min-hwan was accused of prostitution and sexual assault but was cleared due to insufficient evidence.
