‘Neighbor Millionaire with Seo Jang-hoon’, which conveyed various lives and philosophies through the stories of 12 ‘millionaires’, is returning with a regular season 2. Seo Jang-hoon and Jang Ye-won will join as MCs, aiming to showcase good rich people and good adults while striving for the title of EBS's longest-running program.
On the morning of the 16th, a production presentation for EBS’s ‘Neighbor Millionaire with Seo Jang-hoon’ season 2 was held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by PD Kim Min-ji and MCs Seo Jang-hoon and Jang Ye-won.
‘Neighbor Millionaire with Seo Jang-hoon’ is a program that observes the private lives of the wealthy, discovering the extraordinary aspects of their daily lives that led them to success, and through in-depth talks, it sheds light on the mindset, values, and philosophy of the rich, exploring the true meaning of wealth.
PD Kim Min-ji expressed gratitude for the return of the regular program, stating, “I think the diverse lives and philosophies of 12 people were meaningfully conveyed in season 1, and thanks to that, we received a good response. I would like to thank the viewers.”
Seo Jang-hoon said, “I was happy to hear the news of the regular programming, and I sincerely thank EBS, the production team, and all the millionaires who participated,” adding, “There are many long-running programs among those I host, and I hope ‘Neighbor Millionaire’ can reach around 300 episodes.”
Jang Ye-won, who has newly joined as an MC, mentioned that she was a fan of season 1. She has been looking forward to the broadcasting chemistry with Seo Jang-hoon for a long time, saying, “Seo Jang-hoon is a person with a peculiar charm,” and added, “When I ask him for something, he seems like he won’t do it, but he does everything. Even when he plays pranks, he responds flexibly, and I think we will see him smile much more in this program than in others.”
She continued, “Surprisingly, the chemistry with Seo Jang-hoon was great from the very first recording, and I think it was a chance to understand why he has been on air so much.”
PD Kim Min-ji noted that the program's clear direction and goals have sharpened at the end of season 1, stating, “The millionaires we focus on are far from the well-known conglomerate owners or CEOs. We aim to discover hidden millionaires who have been living among us but were previously unknown, and there are many good adults and wealthy individuals who have succeeded in various fields.”
She added, “Internally, we believe there won’t be significant difficulties in continuing the program.” Furthermore, PD Kim Min-ji expressed her hope, saying, “I hope we can reach 3000 episodes and be remembered as EBS's longest-running program,” and added, “I wish this show lasts long enough to uncover excellent wealthy individuals who can help change the world for the better.”
Believing that the true value of wealth comes from sharing, PD Kim Min-ji mentioned, “The common sentiment among millionaires is that success is not solely theirs but comes with the help of many people, and they want to give back to society.” She emphasized, “A significant goal is to feature adults with good values who are not just wealthy but also have a positive influence on those around them and the community.”
In response to PD Kim Min-ji's remarks, Seo Jang-hoon joked, “Famous large company owners or CEOs are always welcome,” adding, “We are always ready to receive their contact.”
On the other hand, regarding questions about inviting millionaires from the entertainment industry, Seo Jang-hoon expressed concern, saying, “There are many wealthy individuals in the entertainment industry, but I worry whether they would appear on a program that identifies them as millionaires.” He added, “I would like to invite representatives from large agencies, but I don’t think they would participate. Still, I hope we can have a special episode featuring people from the entertainment industry someday.”
In season 2, there will be unique millionaires that exceed imagination. PD Kim Min-ji stated, “From a quirky millionaire who created a 30,000-pyeong country in Jeju Island to the ‘Toilet King’ who decorated 15,000 pyeong with toilets, the first kimchi master in Korea, and a food industry tycoon from Gangnam Station exit 7 will appear,” urging anticipation for the broadcast.
The first broadcast is scheduled for the 17th at 9:55 PM.
