Huckle, a member of Beat Pella House, secured 2nd place in a beatbox competition.
In the episode of MBC's entertainment program ‘The Manager's Perspective’ aired on the afternoon of the 30th, Beat Pella House appeared as the first subject of the show.
On that day, the representative of Beat Pella House stated, “Our schedule has increased, so we added two new managers,” and added, “We worked hard in the first half of the year and finally surpassed the break-even point. Today, there is a new beatbox championship in Korea.”
He continued, “This competition has garnered a lot of interest. The members of Beat Pella House could also win in this competition. The judges are His, Wing, and H House. I used to think it was a success if there were 5 or 10 audience members each year, but this time we had 450. It was sold out for the first time.”
Even Huckle, the 2022 KBC champion, challenged himself as a participant. Among the participants, the standout was Hajin, who showcased incredible beatboxing skills by the Han River last time. The representative said, “Hajin and his parents came to a Beat Pella House performance. So we thought about what we could do and invited him this time.”
The members welcomed Hajin and asked, “Can you do a spit snare?” while eagerly sharing their personal skills.
Finally, the 2025 KBC kicked off, and the participants' videos were released. Following Poem, the 2023 KBC champion, the second challenger, Steady, participated. Steady, who will compete in the world competition alongside Wing, thrilled the audience with his clean and sharp beatboxing skills.
The fourth participant was Wing's disciple, Ongyu, who showcased a strong jazz vibe in his beatboxing. The fifth participant was Huckle from Beat Pella House. However, as Huckle kept glancing at Wing, the panel burst into laughter. The representative shared, “I received a message from Huckle early in the morning. He asked, ‘What should I do? If I fail this, my life is ruined?’ I felt the pressure too.”
Despite Huckle filling the venue with his deep bass, Wing coldly evaluated, “His, it was chewed up a lot, right?” Fortunately, Huckle made it to the list of the top 8, with Ongyu taking the first place in the quarterfinals.
When the MC said he could choose his desired opponent, Ongyu chose Huckle. Wing stated, “I will pick someone fun,” revealing his judging criteria.
The first match was Poem vs. Steady. Wing remarked, “Actually, there’s a story between the two. They were really close but unfollowed each other. Steady was saving his skills, which is why he ranked 7th in the preliminaries, but he’s not originally a 7th place contestant. So no one touched Steady, but Poem provoked him,” surprising the panel. After a fierce beatbox battle, the judges unanimously chose Steady. Wing added, “They hadn’t seen each other for about half a year to a year, but they contacted each other to grab a drink after this match.”
The last match of the quarterfinals was Ongyu vs. Huckle. Ongyu dominated the stage with his unique wit, while Huckle, contrary to his worries, continued to showcase variations and presented a new stage. As the competition among skilled performers deepened, the judges unanimously named Huckle as the winner. Yang Se-hyung commented, “Huckle’s damping seems different,” to which Wing agreed, “As Se-hyung said, the damping was different.”
In the much-anticipated finals, Huckle faced off against Jack Bryan. Amidst fierce competition, the glory of the 2025 KBC championship went to Jack Bryan. Jack Bryan expressed, “I am so grateful, and I want to thank the organizers for holding this competition,” shedding tears.
The second subject of the show was Yang Se-hyung. Recently having moved, Yang Se-hyung showcased his daily life of neatly organizing and tidying up while still taking notes. While erasing a note written on a built-in closet with a wet tissue, when Hong Hyun-hee expressed surprise, “Are you going to reuse it?” Yang Se-hyung replied, “I use it multiple times, not just once.” To this, Lee Young-ja remarked, “This is why you became a landlord,” expressing admiration.
After completing a 5km run, he arrived home and immediately started cooking and timing his shower. Suddenly, when he began reading a newspaper, the panel teased him, saying, “You’re just copying Se-hee and Jun-myeon. What would you have done without ‘The Manager's Perspective’?”
Having prepared a 16-dish meal, Yang Se-hyung headed to the performance venue for the ‘Yang Se-bro Show’ with his brother Yang Se-chan. Many celebrities, including Shin Gi-ru, Lee Young-ja, Joo Woo-jae, Lee Yong-jin, and DinDin, were present at the venue.
In front of 1,200 audience members, the Yang brothers presented a performance and a press conference. When a citizen asked, “Who is the older brother when you go to the bathhouse?” Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan responded, “Well, I am the older brother,” and “Hey, you little rascal!” in surprise. The Yang brothers successfully concluded their performance with comedy and remaining songs.
Yang Se-hyung shared, “Passing by each other was truly a happiness,” conveying his feelings at that moment.
‘The Manager's Perspective’ airs every Saturday at 11:10 PM on MBC.
