Broadcaster Lee Soo-geun's wife and entrepreneur Park Ji-yeon announced the news of her kidney re-transplant surgery.
On the 13th, Park Ji-yeon shared on her SNS, "If there are no abnormalities in the final tests, I will likely receive my second kidney transplant around mid-next month."
She added, "My mind is still complicated and cautious, but I am trying to prepare well. I will overcome this with a bright heart."
She explained, "Unfortunately, I have to take immunosuppressants, so I am slowly organizing the yogurt business that is good for immunity that I have been running."
In 2011, during her second pregnancy, Park Ji-yeon experienced worsening kidney function due to pregnancy-induced hypertension and received a kidney transplant from her father. However, she has faced difficulties in recovery and has been undergoing kidney dialysis treatment for the past 10 years.
In 2021, medical staff recommended a re-transplant for Park Ji-yeon, and it has been reported that she underwent detailed examinations to receive a kidney transplant from her biological brother this time.
Park Ji-yeon married Lee Soo-geun in 2008 and they have two sons together.
