'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' Choo Ja-hyun transforms into a 'celebrity shaman' with two faces.
On the 11th, the production team of tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and Eo Content Group) released stills of Yeom-hwa (played by Choo Ja-hyun) that evoke a chilling aura.
'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, depicting a reckless first love rescue romance between a boy destined to die and an MZ shaman girl trying to prevent it. The story revolves around high school shaman Park Seong-ah (played by Joy Hyun), who defies fate for her first love, and Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-woo), who will go against destiny through the ordinary happiness she opens up for him.
Additionally, the episodes featuring K-ghosts, each with unique stories and personalities, add a different kind of fun. Director Kim Yong-wan, who has showcased excellent directing skills through various genres such as 'The Wind Blows', 'Method', and 'If You Wish Upon a Star', and the delicate writer Yang Ji-hoon have teamed up to raise expectations.
The contrasting atmosphere of Yeom-hwa revealed on that day raises curiosity about her role as a variable in the mutual rescue romance between Park Seong-ah and Bae Gyeon-woo. Yeom-hwa, a famous 'celebrity shaman', hides a nature that captivates people's hearts behind her elegant and kind face. Her smile, devoid of any emotion, sends chills down the spine.

Choo Ja-hyun, who found the character 'Yeom-hwa' appealing, stated, "I was excited about how to portray the role of a shaman. As an actress, I had a desire to act as my own shaman. I felt a sense of responsibility to become a character that would remain in the viewers' memories."
Regarding the character 'Yeom-hwa', Choo Ja-hyun explained, "Yeom-hwa is a character who throws herself into hell and lives while destroying herself. The fact that she harbors deep wounds within her makes her feel more three-dimensional and tragic." She added, "As viewers watch Yeom-hwa's life, which has no choice but to accept a tragic fate, they will also feel sadness and tension."
