Actress Shin Ae-ra opened up about her body condition as she experiences menopause and aging.
On the 30th, a video titled ‘My Body is Not Like Before, How About You, My Dear?’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Shin Ae-ra Life’. The released video features Shin Ae-ra sharing her recent updates and expressing her thoughts honestly.
On that day, Shin Ae-ra stated, “My pronunciation is a bit awkward,” and revealed, “I am wearing clear braces.” She mentioned that her teeth keep bumping and breaking, saying, “I heard that this vibration causes the gums to recede,” and expressed her bitterness, saying, “As I age, all sorts of symptoms arise.”
She continued, “But I don’t know why my close friends didn’t talk about these things before,” referring to menopause and aging. Shin Ae-ra mentioned that she feels her body is different from before.
Shin Ae-ra is the 5-year MC of Channel A’s entertainment program ‘My Precious Child’. She remarked, “There are old videos on Netflix, and when they come up, I’m surprised,” adding, “I look so young.”
Reiterating that her past and present appearances are very different, Shin Ae-ra decided to change her mindset, saying, “I keep comparing myself to who I was yesterday, a year ago, or five years ago. Back then, my teeth didn’t break when they bumped, and my gums didn’t recede. No matter how much I ate, I digested well. Still, I think it would be good for my mental health not to compare my past self with my current self, but rather to compare myself with my peers and think, ‘Let’s be healthier.’”
Shin Ae-ra debuted in 1989 with the MBC drama ‘Angel’s Choice’. She married actor Cha In-pyo in 1995 and welcomed a son. Later, in 2005 and 2008, she publicly adopted two daughters, becoming a parent of one son and two daughters.
