In ‘Pyeon Restaurant’, Hayoung reveals the reason she started acting despite majoring in art.
On the 16th, KBS2’s ‘New Menu Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’) will feature new chef Hayoung. After Hayoung's first shoot, the production team of ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ and evaluation team leader Chef Lee Yeon-bok reportedly praised her, saying, “A treasure has come to ‘Pyeon Restaurant’,” raising expectations for Hayoung's performance.
The released VCR of Hayoung starts in her one-room apartment where she began living alone a month ago. What caught the eye in this space were the artistic paintings placed all around. It turned out that all of them were painted by Hayoung herself. Hayoung stated, “I have been doing art since I was young. I graduated from an arts middle school and high school, and then from the Western Painting Department at Ewha Womans University,” indicating that she has been dedicated to art for over 10 years.
After graduating from Ewha Womans University, Hayoung went abroad to study at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, which is known as one of the top three art schools in New York. So how did she become an actress? Hayoung shared, “While attending SVA, I took an acting class, and that experience was really intense. At that moment, without any hesitation, I decided, ‘I have to act! Right now!’” Thus, just two years after switching to acting, Hayoung debuted and has grown into a leading actress in just six years through her exceptional efforts.
Earlier this year, Hayoung gained attention for her role as nurse Cheon Jang-mi in the series ‘Severe Trauma Center’, which has been very popular to this day. At that time, she received praise for her detailed and vibrant performance. MC Boom asked Hayoung, “I heard your father and sister are doctors, and your mother was a nurse. Did you seek any advice from them?” To this, Hayoung replied, “I worked part-time at the hospital where my parents work, and I think the observations and atmosphere I felt there helped me unknowingly.”
On this day, Hayoung turns ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ upside down with her unimaginable energy and incredible cooking skills. She cooks her favorite dish, ramen, with her unique recipes while also sharing her tips on making kimchi, showcasing her solid cooking skills. Hayoung, the happy virus that makes those around her happy, will be seen in action on the show.
‘Pyeon Restaurant’ airs on the 16th at 8:30 PM.
