Director Yoon Jong-bin of 'Nine Puzzle' revealed the reason for casting actress Kim Da-mi.
On the 14th, a production presentation for the Disney+ original series 'Nine Puzzle' was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul, located in Jongno 6-ga, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Kim Da-mi, Son Seok-koo, Kim Sung-kyun, Hyun Bong-sik, and director Yoon Jong-bin.
Kim Da-mi mentioned about her character 'Yoon Ina', "I wanted to express a child who is stuck in the past, so I acted honestly, following my emotions, and tried to appear free-spirited. I wanted to show that within that personality, there is also fragility and pain."
In response, director Yoon Jong-bin said, "From the first time I read the script, I thought the character 'Yoon Ina' was really unique. She is a bold and straightforward character, yet at the same time, she is not unpleasant." He added, "The healthy energy that Kim Da-mi possesses came to mind. I also think of her as 'unique in itself', so I felt that the audience would perceive her that way, which is why I decided to cast her."
'Nine Puzzle' is a mystery thriller that unravels the secrets of a serial murder case that has resumed with the only witness and current profiler 'Ina' (Kim Da-mi) and the strong team detective 'Han Saem' (Son Seok-koo), who continues to suspect her as a suspect, along with mysterious puzzle pieces.
The appearance of the two, who meet again as a profiler and a detective 10 years later, creates a unique chemistry and is expected to showcase an interesting relationship that has never been seen before.
In the Gangnam Police Station's Violent Crimes Unit 2, serious detectives including Son Seok-koo, team leader Yang Jeong-ho played by Kim Sung-kyun, and the youngest Choi San played by Hyun Bong-sik are assigned to address the seriousness of the case.
'Nine Puzzle' will release 6 episodes on the 21st, 3 episodes on the 28th, and 2 episodes on June 4th on Disney+, totaling 11 episodes.
