Oh Min-ae, a 34-year veteran actress who made her mark as Park Bo-gum's mother in 'Bokssak Soksuda', will share her life story in her first appearance on 'Radio Star'.
The MBC 'Radio Star' airing on the 7th will feature actors Song Il-gook, Oh Min-ae, broadcaster Jung Si-a, and singer KCM in a special Parents' Day episode themed around 'Bokssak Soksuda'.
In the drama 'Bokssak Soksuda', Oh Min-ae plays the role of Yang Kwan-sik's mother, and she is also active as a new 'child collector' actress, portraying the mother of Ha Do-young (played by Jung Sung-il) in 'The Glory'.
Oh Min-ae, who is making her first appearance on a formal entertainment program and talk show, reveals, "It was my dream to appear on 'Radio Star', and that dream has come true," eliciting laughter. She introduces herself as a 'late-blooming actress' who only stepped onto the theater stage at the age of 27 after 34 years of debuting.
She shares that it took her 10 years to get on stage, surprising the MCs with the incredible story of how she became a theater actress while planning a backpacking trip to India. She mentions that she had never seen a play and didn't even know where Daehangno was, but she started her acting career by accidentally working as a theater staff member.
In particular, she confesses that due to family circumstances, she dropped out of high school and later pursued her education through the GED, eventually attending a broadcasting and communications university and graduate school to quench her 'thirst for learning'. After investing countless hours and efforts to be recognized on stage, she states, "An actor must learn until they die," nodding in agreement from everyone present.
Oh Min-ae reveals her life story, stating that after organizing all her assets during difficult times and entering a temple to calm her mind, she gave birth to her first child at the age of 42, surprising the cast.
Oh Min-ae also showcased her unexpected charm by presenting a 'passion dance' that even got KCM dancing, heating up the studio with behind-the-scenes stories from various dramas.
