In ‘Gwigung’, Yoo Seong-jae and Kim Ji-yeon face the new ‘Wonhwan-gwi’, bringing another wave of turmoil.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama ‘Gwigung’ (written by Yoon Soo-jung, directed by Yoon Sung-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy about a shaman named Yeori who rejects the fate of a medium, and the Imugi Kang-cheol, who is trapped in the body of Yeori's first love, Yoon-gap, facing the eight-legged ghost filled with resentment towards the royal family, leading to a tangled battle for bodies and souls. The fresh romance between the Imugi and the shaman, caught between love and hate, the fast-paced developments that keep viewers glued, and the court mysteries along with K-monsters are continuously generating buzz.

In the shocking development of the fifth episode, Prince Yeong-in (played by Kim Seon-bin) is sacrificed as a offering to the eight-legged ghost due to the scheme of Pungsan (played by Kim Sang-ho), while Kang-cheol (played by Yoo Seong-jae), Yeori (played by Kim Ji-yeon), and King Lee Jeong (played by Kim Ji-hoon) finally begin their cooperation to confront the eight-legged ghost, dramatically summoning it and raising interest. A shocking fact is revealed that Kang-cheol must exhaust all the luminous jewels he possesses and sacrifice himself to eliminate the eight-legged ghost, heightening curiosity about how the confrontation will unfold.

Ahead of the broadcast of episode 6, the ‘Gwigung’ team has released scenes of Kang-cheol and Yeori summoning a new ghost, ‘Soo-gwi’, filled with deep resentment, creating an explosive tension. In the released stills, Kang-cheol and Yeori are preparing for the summoning ritual by a deserted riverside, and the tense expressions on their faces suggest that the Soo-gwi they are about to summon is not an ordinary being.

The urgent two-shot of the two facing the unidentified Soo-gwi raises the tension even further. Just before the ritual, Yeori, as if risking her life, extends the end of a white cloth wrapped around her body to Kang-cheol, who, with a determined look, grabs it with all his strength. Alongside this, Kang-cheol, soaked in the river and in shock, adds to the gripping tension. This raises questions about why Kang-cheol and Yeori are summoning the Soo-gwi and how their fierce battle with the terrifying ghost will unfold.

‘Gwigung’ episode 6 will air today (3rd) at 9:55 PM.
