Lee Jun-young shared his thoughts on playing the role of the gym director in ‘24-Hour Health Club’.
On the afternoon of the 29th, a production presentation for KBS2's new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘24-Hour Health Club’ was held at The Saint in Sindorim, Seoul. Director Park Jun-soo and actors Lee Jun-young, Jung Eun-ji, Lee Mi-do, Lee Seung-woo, Park Sung-yeon, Lee Ji-hye, and Hong Yoon-hwa attended.
Lee Jun-young said, “The character I play, Do Hyun-jung, needs to have knowledge about bodybuilding, so I studied a lot. It was different from the regular workouts I used to do. While preparing for this project, I realized once again how amazing and fiercely competitive bodybuilders are.”
He continued, “Before starting this project, I often compromised. I thought about taking a day off because I was tired today, but I believed that after this project, I would still be able to smile in the end, which made me less afraid of working out.”
Lee Jun-young also mentioned, “For this project, I had to bulk up. So, whenever I had time, I worked out twice a day. I ate five meals a day and had chicken breast whenever I was hungry. I tried to maintain this until the end of filming. Since the set was a gym, I would work out during breaks while filming.”
‘24-Hour Health Club’ is a thrilling comic romance about a passionate gym director, Do Hyun-jung, who dramatically corrects the lives of overly anxious gym beginners. It will premiere on the 30th at 9:50 PM.
