The big eater Joo Won shared a warm friendship with 'Food Siblings' Choi Hwa-jung and Kim Ho-young at his favorite restaurant.
On the 27th, the ENA entertainment program "Choi Hwa-jung and Kim Ho-young's I Missed You" featured the charming actor Joo Won, who possesses a perfect physique, as a guest.
Upon meeting Choi Hwa-jung and Kim Ho-young, Joo Won immediately showcased his extraordinary loyalty. Choi Hwa-jung praised Joo Won, saying, "He looks like a star after the deposit," and asked, "You didn't come out just for promotion, right?" To which Joo Won replied, "I'm taking a break while considering my next project," revealing his fan affection for 'Food Siblings'.
Joo Won then guided the viewers to his favorite restaurant, which he has been visiting for 10 years, recognized by his family. Despite managing his diet and avoiding carbohydrates, Joo Won was tempted to indulge at this restaurant, which has a single menu that is ordered before even sitting down, greatly boosting the trust of Choi Hwa-jung and Kim Ho-young. With 21 side dishes that evoke a mother's home-cooked taste, along with marinated pork neck, dried pollack, and braised ribs, Choi Hwa-jung praised, "I think this is the most delicious place I've been to so far."
Choi Hwa-jung pointed out to Joo Won, "You've done a lot of physically demanding works," highlighting his numerous appearances in action films. Joo Won responded, "It's all the aftermath of 'Gaksital'," and brought up the movie "Firefighter." He said, "'Firefighter' was based on a true story. I wanted the sincerity of these individuals to be conveyed clearly, rather than making it look cooler with tricks," focusing on authenticity. Joo Won particularly recalled, "The fire on set wasn't CGI. At first, I couldn't go in," evoking emotions as he reminisced about the fear he felt during filming.
Additionally, Joo Won revealed that he built friendships with G-Dragon during his military service and formed a group with Beenzino, Go Kyung-pyo, Taeyang, Daesung, and Gunbang, stating, "I made celebrity friends in the military. Living together, we got to know each other deeply and became close quickly." He also shared that he had many minor health issues but noted, "All my ailments disappeared since the military," surprising everyone as he transformed into a surprise honorary ambassador for the military.
After moving to a bakery filled with emotions, many of Joo Won's other celebrity friends made appearances. First, Hee-ryeong shared, "I called Joo Won oppa to ask him something, and he helped me as if it were his own business." Choi Hwa-jung then acknowledged Joo Won's character, saying, "When we were filming the drama, we weren't very close, but he prepared a birthday cake for me."
Moreover, Gun-il also mentioned, "We have many mutual acquaintances, and I've heard he's a hardworking and exemplary student. When I met him in the military, I was curious about how 'FM' he would be, and if the wake-up time was 6:30, he would wake up at 6," surprising everyone. Jin-woong added, "Why wouldn't you meet the time set by the country? You need to sleep," eliciting laughter.
Furthermore, when asked if he ever experienced a slump, Joo Won replied, "It might have happened, but I don't think about it. After some time, I realized that even if a project doesn't succeed, there are things to learn, and even if it does well, there are gains," revealing the philosophy and beliefs he has built as an actor over the years.
Meanwhile, Joo Won, who was always a proud grandson to his grandmother, shared, "My grandmother passed away recently, but she watched all my recent works," sighing with emotion. He reflected, "She was in a nursing home, but she kept calling my name. I think she held on until the drama ended," lost in thought. Joo Won expressed, "I wanted to make a work that my grandmother would like, and I still feel the same way," offering a heartfelt confession that left a deep impression.
Providing comfort through food, "Choi Hwa-jung and Kim Ho-young's I Missed You" airs every Sunday at 9:20 PM.
